CliniSys National Conference

CliniSys was thrilled to once again invite our LIMS and ICE customers to the CliniSys | MIPS National Conference and User Group which was held at The Belfry, West Midlands.

The two-day programme consisted of educational conference sessions, exhibition, training and company updates. Even with the rail strike, we saw over 300 delegates attend over the two days.

The first day, Thursday 23^rd June was a conference session with presentations by a number of distinguished speakers giving insights into the direction of healthcare in the NHS. Some of the keynoter speakers included:

• Jane Mills, Head of Pathology Transformation, NHS England and MHS Improvement
• Professor Jo Martin, RCPath
• Professor Sarah Coupland, RCPath
• Marion Wood, Getting It Right First Time
• Bernie Croal, The Association for Clinical Biochemistry & Laboratory Medicine

An exhibition of the latest CliniSys | MIPS products and versions and a selection of external suppliers was also running with several opportunities throughout the two days to meet up and network with fellow users including the gala dinner and evening entertainment.

The second day, Friday 24^th June, saw a programme of open sessions, which provided delegates with a choice of what to attend and included options on various topics, products, disciplines and guest speakers. Break out sessions included:

• Blood Sciences
• Blood Transfusion
• Microbiology
• Anatomic Pathology
• System Administration
• ICE

It’s difficult to single out any one speaker and presentation, but Dr Vanya Gant’s presentation on his research into Long Covid has to be one of the most fascinating presentations we had at the event.

Our next event will be a virtual affair in the autumn which will allow an even greater number to attend and we’ll return to the Belfry in June 2023. We can’t wait to see you again!
