empath appoints CliniSys and Capita Healthcare Decisions to deliver a Blood Transfusion system

Empath, the stand-alone organization established by Nottingham University Hospitals and the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS trusts to provide pathology services to the Trusts has appointed CliniSys | MIPS and Capita Healthcare Decisions to deliver a Blood Transfusion system to the sites served by University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust; namely Leicester General, Leicester Royal and Glenfield Hospitals.

The decision to award the solution to Capita Healthcare Decisions and their partner CliniSys followed procurement via the NHS Supply Chain framework and becomes the third joint project for Capita and CliniSys | MIPS following wins at Bristol and the Pathology Partnership in the East of England.

The CliniSys managed service solution is delivered on the proven Capita Healthcare hosted platform using CliniSys | MIPS’ WinPath Enterprise software to provide the service to empath. Empath will benefit from a single point of contact for program delivery and realise additional benefits from an integrated service management function allowing for a service level agreement from the application down to the network.  The strategic partnership with Capita allows for a highly resilient and efficient model providing an extremely flexible and scalable platform to meet the future needs of the new organisation.
